Just found out I have a syrnix (a fluid filled cyst) in my spinal cord that is 3 cm long and 2.5 wide, and is destroying my spinal cord from the inside --> out.
I am very scared ... I am a 34 year old divorced mom of 2 young girls ... all the options I've read about are very scarey -- shunts or lamenectomy ... I've got other spine troubles --> three protruding disks in my L-spine, and 2 protruding disks in my C-spine ... I had a car accident 4 years ago -- my doctor then kept telling me it was soft tissue damage and nerves and did trigger point injections and physical therapy -- never did an MRI -- now the case is "closed", this could be considered pre-existing by my insurance company -- and I don't know what to do ... my hands and arms are weak and my hips and legs hurt, my toes go numb ... it's crazy
Has anyone out there been through dealing with a Syrnix .. is mine considered 'large' ... or small ...what can I expect to have happen to me now.
I have my appt. with a neurosurgeon on Friday -- what should I ask ... what can I do
AUGH -- I'm so sad ... someone please help ...
