: : I am a candidate for caged cervical spine surgery with titanium fixation plates. The cervical cage has not yet been FDA approved. I am trying to wait for approval before I consent to another surgery. I have a solid fusion at the C5-6 level, a failed fusion at the C6-7 level and a herniated disc at the C4-5 level. The cage supposedly will take care of all problems in the cervical area, which will prevent future surgeries.

: : Has anyone out there had this procedure performed, or know of anyone who has? I am open to any information about this procedure. Living in agony is no fun!

: I had the Ray Cage Fusion (titanium) done 11 months ago. It did not work well for me at all..mine was done at the L4/L5 level. I have had more pain since the surgery than I did before. My quality of life was DEFINITLY not improved from this titanium cage fusion. Make sure you get your doctor to do his homework before this surgery and TELL YOU ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD CAUSE THIS SURGERY NOT TO WORK.

Hi. I am new to this site and was amazed to see the titanium cages listed. I had 3 levels of titanium cages put in in 1998 and I am worse now than I ever was. I respect you so much for not having it done until your doctor does some more homework. I on the otherhand wanted so much to be rid of lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain that I opted for the cages and I regret it every waking moment. I also ended up with other problems that I never had before, postoperatively.
I wish you well. Mary
