I had microdiscectomy on L5/S1 in March 99. It felt better at first, but between 3 & 4 weeks after the surgery, it hurt again. Just hang in there, you're dealing with a lot of swelling as the body heals. It should be feeling LOTS better by the 5th or 6th week. I'm not gonna tell you that it will never hurt again - it will, especially if you overdo it - but it's been almost a year now and I've never had any further pain that came close to touching what I had before the surgery. Your life will be back to normal soon. Keep your spirits up! Best of luck to you!!
