Had Cervical Spinal Stenosis surgery 2-23-95. Neck was fused & wired, did between 2-5. Since then right back side of my head is still numb. Left side returned to normal feeling within 6 weeks. Right side is numb, neck area has a pulling & a tight feeling on the right side. Have been told this was due to nerves being cut during surgery. Aware of this every day & difficult to get in good positiion for sleeping. Can not turn my neck all the way in either right or left area. Excersises & moist heat are the only help at this point. Any suggestion. Problem started with arthritis compressing the spinal cord. Lost use of arm & hands. If surgery not done, would have been paralzed from waist up in 3 to 5 years. They did surgery from back of neck. Had very fine surgeons. Was in neck brace for 12 weeks, slept upright in lazy-boy chair, could do nothing for myself. Thank God for a wonderful husband who took beautiful care of me and was home with me. My conditiion gave me no choice, but surgery. Hands & arms working normal now, but was a very long hard road, but know there are others who have & have had it worse. Just look like I have a stiff neck all the time, but Thankful to God for guiding my surgeons & granting me the recovery that I have made. Keep a positive attitude and faith and you can make it thru all the major problems.
