: Mary - Did you have surgery (laminectomy) due to your L5 herniated disk. I did in January 99 as had massive nerve compression (L5/S1) and was in agony pre surgery. Probably the worst pain I ever had and I had spinal cord surgery in October 97 and was in Malibu brace for one year in a hospital bed. Please respond as would like to talk with youabout this! Scott,Yes I Had a disectomy done on L5 S1 disc in Dec of 99.I also had a compressed nerve in my right leg.I have some nerve damnage still the doc said that may never improve.(numbness)If you have any questions you can e-mail me at Lunchlady1012@aol.com.Good luck.Mary
