: Had sergury on 1/24/00 and have lost the use of my right arm. My hand and wrist have total movement but very week. The discs were #4-5,5-6 and the doctor says that it is due to inflamed nerves which need time to heal and strengthen muscles. I am interested in getting a second opinion and have people saying to get one asap and the doctors say to wait for threopy and the swelling to go down. After 3 weeks I am very irritated with the situation and use to be able to use my arm for everything before the surgery. How important is it to get the second opinion and who would I go to.
I HAD SURGERY 2 YRS AGO AND STILL HAVE WEAKNESS, NUMBNESS AND BURNING IN RT ARM. NERVES TAKE A LONG TIME TO HEAL MY DOCS TELL ME... I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND MY LIFE HAS CHANGED FOREVER - I HOPE YOU HAVE A BETTER RECOVERY
