i had been addicted to xanax for 18 years by a doctor I trusted. When I found out he had me under "supervised addiction" and he was retiring I was forced by the new doctor I had to be weaned from Xanax.
HE made me go off it so quickly it totally messed up my body. I had a near nervous breakdown or a complete one, if there is such a thing. I reported him to the hospital he worked out of. They smacked his hands and sent him on his way, to another hospital here in Cleveland. This second doctor used ativan to wean me, causing me to be addicted again. I knew this ativan was addicted but was told by this doc that I could be easily weaned from it. Unfortunately this is not the case. I am now a near basket case, seeing another Psychiatrist who is trying to wean me from the ativan but my body is having a horrible reaction. I have just about given up on myself and doctors too. Is there any help for me out there?
