congrats on stoping the weed I quit drinking and smoking weed about 4 years ago myself If I were you I would talk to the doctor and tell him you want to try to get off it and let him taper it down medicines are not like weed and booze though sometimes when you stop meds cold turkey it can make you really sick thats why I would talk to the doctor and see if he has start slowly taking you off it like cutting your dosage down gradually
: i have been on paxil for 1 year and want to stop but i am scared. i was a heavy heavy marijuana user for 7 years....i had one panic attack and went to see the doctor who sent me to a physcologist who recommended paxil......i did not stop smoking the weed either.....well one year to the day after my panic attack, i had a anxiety attack......... i went back to the physcologist and my doctor who finally told me to quit pot entirely(which they both new of last year) and within a few days of quitting my anxiety was gone and have not had a problem since...i will never smoke pot again....but my concern is the paxil i am taking 20 mg per day, i want to stop but if i miss a dose i have dizzy spells and vertigo and diahrea the day i miss the dose, and i have dizzy spells and vertigo even if i dont forget to take the paxil(occasionally) i have light headaches and gained 30 pounds the year i was taking paxil.......i feel that the dr's jumped the gun in saying i had a panic/anxiety disorder and they jumped the gun putting me on paxil. does this sound like they did jump the gun? i am fully detoxed from the marijuana and feel awesome.....but i want to stop taking paxil....ween off i mean.
