About two months ago, I went to a going away party that my office had for me. Needless to say, I drank too much and woke up about 3 in the morning with my heart pounding like crazy, sweating, naseau and dizziness. It continued for a couple of days. Ever since then I have been experiencing severe shoulder pain, arm numbness, a lump in my throat, dizziness, heart palpitations. I often wake up at night with my heart pounding and a shortness of breath. I'll be sitting watching TV when I feel a wave of dizziness and heart pounding. My doctor says its anxiety due to my new job, a terminally ill mother, kids, and the stresses of life in generel. My ECG, bloodpressure, etc. is all normal. I am going for a chest xray tomorrow and scheduled for a holter monitor next month.
I sometimes have to wonder if it really is anxiety or something else. It is very frightening. I am 36 years old and have always been in great health. Dr. prescribed .5 mg of Adivan which is helped some.
