My mother recently suffered her 5th stroke on Nov 9. She has problems with speech and could not answer simple questions. She has had 2 major strokes in th epast left and right side, and this is the 3rd small one. She has made remarkable recovery from all of them except this one.
When shhe had this last one, two different doctors said it was a slight TIA, as the CT scan showed no change or damage since the last major one. Well, she has been in rahb and the aphasia that she is suffering is expressive and receptive at times. She can read, walk around, feed herself, go to the bathroom etc, but she cannot complete simple sentences, of think of the write words at all. What could have happened? They are baffled at the reahb center. Any suggestions? Also she is very severly depressed at this time.
