My mother, age 74, has 50% blockage of carotid (both I believe) compared to 30% a year ago. Arteriogram has not been recommended. Had MRI and MRA to evaluate fainting. Is on coumadin after severe blood clotting in leg 2 yrs ago. Normally had low blood pressure, since fainting (3 times in 6 months) bp fluctuates. Fairly high "bad" cholesterol. My question: why are her doctors not recommending arteriogram?
