My father had a stroke two weeks ago and is in a rehab hospital. He is able to walk now but his language skills are greatly diminished. He has trouble finishing a sentence. He cannot remember the names of things. He seems to be in and out of awareness. Because of all of this, he is very depressed and at times becomes very agitated. Because the rehab hospital is two hours away, we can only visit a couple of times a week. Today was a very bad day for him. I was told that they have started anti-depressants. Has anyone else had experiences similar to this and will it get better? I know the rehab hospital cannot keep him if he is not cooperating and that scares me.
