My son is now 15 months old, he suffered a stroke in-utero at approx. 24 weeks. We found out at 6 months that something wasn't right. We noticed lack of use of his right hand. After many tests we discovered that majority of the left hemisphere of the brain is missing. We are somewhat recovered, but in some ways you never do. We have embarked on a whole new terrain. We also have a 3 year old son. I'm a stay at home mom (when we are not at Dr. appt. or therapy sessions). My son is talking, scooting distances, clapping and doing many other age appropriate things. there is life after devistation. We are also curious about legal issues. I had an ultrasound at 19 weeks that came with a reccomendation for a repeat in the third trimester. The reccomendation came from the radiologist, but was never relayed to me by the doctor. Anyone want to touch this one? We are unsure about the possibility of fetal treatment for blood clots in the brain. He has no other brain injuries.
