Last month I suffered a stroke. I am 27 years old and basically in good health. During my dad's birthday dinner that I was holding at my house, I felt a sharp pain go from the back of my head to the front. All of a sudden my vision went crazy and I had the worst headache ever. I did not know what was happening to me. The next day I went to the emergency room where the doctor decided that I just have a migraine. There is no history of migraines in my family, This doctor never ordered a cat scan. Three days later a neurologist ordered an emergency scan where they found that I had suffered a stroke. I am fortunate that only my left eye vision was affected. The doctors seem to think it may have been a combination of smoking and birth control although they are not 100% positive. I was not a heavy smoker, yet it still had an influence. The doctors now have me on coumadin. For how long who knows. My question to anyone out there is will I ever feel like myself again?? I have this "Spacy" feeling . Is this normal? Will it go away. I know it's only been a little over a month since this happened maybe time is what I need. Thanks for listening or should I say reading.
