My mother just had a stroke last week. The MRI has shown a pool of blood remaining on the surface of the brain which is putting pressure on the brain. The Neurosurgeon told us that it may take 3-5 weeks for this to disipate. During this time she may be in a semi-coma state. I would like to hear from anyone who has any experience or has heard anything about this. He has said she still has a great chance for recovery and rehab but will remain very groggy untill this blood is broken down.
