: I do not know what you can do to regain memory loss. But I can tell you the reason why this probaby happened to you at such a young age. Though there is not much written on this subject, synthetic hormones (and or estrogen) play a role in causing strokes in young woman.

One of the main causes would be from birth control pills. If you do not, or have never used the pill, you may have another condition where your body is producing too much estrogen, such as polycystic overies or some type of an disease of the adrenal glands. I would recomend that you find a good endocrinologist and get checked for any hormonal related disorders (including thyroid disease).

I would really urge you to find out what the root cause is, because is it goes unnoticed, another stroke (an even more serious one could result when you are older).

If you are taking birth control pills...stop taking them if you value your life. They are extremely dangerous. Especially if a woman smokes. The risk increases with age.

Good luck to you. sincerely, Karen
