: : I am now in the 10th month after my stroke and I am getting better:I can walk, talk (thanks to a lot of help from my speech therapist), etc. I am supposed to be starting school in September and I was wondering if anyone else has gotten a 100% better after the stroke, because I hope to (one day I hope to be able to drive again)?
: Hi Pooky,
: I have just passed 9 months since my stroke. It was a particularly nasty one, the gran-daddy of all strokes I call it. If I survived I was expected to be nothing better than a vegetable.
: The stroke was a Bilateral Cebellar Infarcts, bilateral means that it affected both sides of my brain in the cerebellum area, infarcts means that a piece of my brain died as a result of starvation of oxygen and blood from the arterial clot. This was complicated with a haemorage between the cerebellum and brain stem.
: Today my recovery is 100%. I am walking normally without aid, talking normally and have no known memory problems. I have my driving licence back and I am working 3 days a week at present. (network specialist in data communications)
: It does happen but not often. I believe my odds are about one in a million.
: Good luck, keep up with the therapy and make it the second. Peter
