: I am just wondering if anyone works, because I can't now. If it weren't for my parents and SSI, I don't know how I would be able to buy stuff. I probably won't be able to work for a long time, because I work with bad school children (and I don't think I can handle that now). But, since my job let me go (an easy way to say they fired me) maybe the school district will place me at another school. I can't wait until I will be able to work again (except for getting up really early in the morning). Even if I could work, I don't know how I would get there (I am not supposed to drive).
hey pooky, no i haven't worked a day since november 2nd 1992.9:35 am is the last time i looked at my watch on the job. i was a union carpenter foreman for 27 years before my accident at work causing my stroke. by the way sam or jack i think ssi turns everyone down the first time they did me to till i went in person to their office in a wheelchair. and pooky i know the feeling about getting up early. for 2 years after my stroke i got up daily ay 6 am now it's not before 10 without a fight.the company i worked for has offered me several jobs i can handle but i turned them all down.i can't drive either
but they even offered to have me picked up and taken to work but i'm used to this lifestyle now. my settlement from my lawsuit was tax free so is ssi and workman's comp if i take the job i'd have to file income tax next year i haven't in 8 years and i kinda like it this way. i wish you the best if you care to write feel free at firstname.lastname@example.org,Larry
