Shoe wedge.

I just came back from seeing my family practioner, and I told him that when I walk all my weight seems to be on the outside of my foot. When I'm outside walking and I find a slope or old hardened tire rut that causes my weifght to force my balence to the inside it feels tons better. My doctor said I might want to try a wedge shoe insert. Has anyone with similar balance issues tried a wedge to force you to use either the inside or outside of your foot? I think it will work to get my balance more evenly distributed. Any comments or experiences?
