: My Mom had a stroke in Nov. '99. I left a message about it before. The question I have now is about pain. The doctors told us that strokes are not painful but my Mom has had a headache in the same place on the right side of her head since the stroke. The pain gets better and worse but never goes away, 213 days now. She also has pain in her left leg, sometimes bad enough to wake her. If this isn't from the stroke I don't know what. I also don't have any idea what to do about it.
in my opinion unless the doctor has had a stroke how do they know if it's painful?
in my case when my stroke happened i was in so much other pain i wouldn't have known the difference since then yes i've had constant pain somewhere on my affected side at all times sure it subsides at times like when i'm asleep but is always there while awake. if you can find your way to the TBI discussion board and on opening page click on members stories there are over 300 of us then click on my name you can read my whole story of my accident and stroke including my recovery so far there hasn't been any change since posting it there if i knew how to post the link to that site i'd do it here but i don't it should be easy to find by doing a search for it just tbi.chat . org
