I used to always point my finger at stuff when I couldn't talk. What I would like to know, is there anyone else that points at things and why do you do it? I think that I point because when I was in the hospital or rehab they had a piece of paper with pictures on it. So, if I wanted breakfast, I would point to the picture of breakfast. I still point sometimes, but not as much as I used to.
The other day, I was talking to my speech therapist, and I asked her if my speech problem is a result of my occipatal lobe [if I remember correctly that is the part of the brain that controls speech/language (but, my memory tends to be very bad now) being messed up by the stroke, and she said it probably is. So, maybe I point now, because at one time I couldn't talk, and I've just gotten used to pointing.
