: My Mom had a stroke in Nov. '99. I left a message about it before. The question I have now is about pain. The doctors told us that strokes are not painful but my Mom has had a headache in the same place on the right side of her head since the stroke. The pain gets better and worse but never goes away, 213 days now. She also has pain in her left leg, sometimes bad enough to wake her. If this isn't from the stroke I don't know what. I also don't have any idea what to do about it.

I had a major stroke 3 years ago, paralyzed right side. The pain I have is in my back and right leg, pain is not always present, comes and goes. For my leg soreness I lie on the floor and stretch the darn thing out, and it does help, I also find going to a gym 3 days a week doing leg execises works, but here is what helped the most besides lots of prayers is accupuncture, it has worked for me, today I drive, not in heavy trafic, but I have driven to Yellowstone, Arizona, etc from California. But ACCUPUNCTURE does help, not a cure all. In three years I have gone from totally paralyzed on my right side to today I built a fence. May our Heavenly Father bless you Mother. Bob Allen
