My mom was hospitalized last Monday because of dizziness and headaches. This was happening for approx. 4 weeks. She was being tested and the tests were coming back negative. Friday she experienced a dizzy spell while I was with her and we had the Doctor come in while it was happening. He said they were seizures and she'll be fine. I was very concerned because she had had her 3rd stroke two years ago. The following morning when I visited she was just staring into space and the nurse called the Dr. The CAT Scan revealed she had a stroke in the Post Cerebral Artery.
Prior to this she was managing and able to take care of herself. Now she is just in a sleep state and opens her eyes when we call her. She can move her legs and her left arm, but not her right arm. The doctors said it's a wait and see situation. They put a feeding tube in. I'm wondering if anyone knows or can give me additional information. With her other strokes she was alert but had paralysis and recovered a great deal. She is 70 years old and I'm wondering if because its her 4th stroke and it's so different will she get better. Does anyone have any encouraging news to share with me. I'm so upset I need to hear from someone.
