: My Mom had a stroke in Nov. '99. I left a message about it before. The question I have now is about pain. The doctors told us that strokes are not painful but my Mom has had a headache in the same place on the right side of her head since the stroke. The pain gets better and worse but never goes away, 213 days now. She also has pain in her left leg, sometimes bad enough to wake her. If this isn't from the stroke I don't know what. I also don't have any idea what to do about it.
Your mom had her stroke near the time I had mine (I had mine in September 1999). I have no idea at all if strokes are painful. This is because my memory is so bad that I don't remember having the stroke. I don't have any pain after the stroke--well, I don't have any physical pain but I do have mental pain. It makes me mad that I had the stroke, because if I wouldn't of had it I would've graduated from college, last month. I am also mad that it is hard for me to do certain things (it's hard for me to walk up stairs w/o laughing, I shouldn't drive, etc).
