: My stroke has been 2 months ago now,I have little movement in my left leg,I can walk with assistance,But I have no feeling in my right arm nor the left side of my face,i would like to hear from all of you who have had a similar experince, and how long before you felt any sensations and what it felt like,I need some encouragement.God Bless,
G'day Deloris,
It is just about 1 year since my stroke, I lost all ability to walk and had limited arm movement. My hands lacked full feeling until one morning I had pins & needles in them, this was about 2 months after my stroke. With rehabilitation, plenty of help from family and friends, and prayer support I am now able to walk without aid and have no known speech or memory problems. All this when doctors only expected me to be a vegetable.
I have returned to work part time (my old job). It has taken the past 6 months to work from 3 hour days to 7 hour days on three days a week. I have been tested and certified able to drive again.
Don,t ever give up hope, I cannot say that you will fully recover but if you have a positive attitude, persaverance and persistance with rehab you should go far. I have seen stories here where some take years to recover and are still improving.
May the Lord bless you,
Peter Brown
