:Hello My mother had a stroke on July 23 and I too have had it with the nurses!!!!!!!!! To them it is just a job~~~~~~~~~to me it is my mother. Please e-mail me DebbieK16AOL.COM
: : My loved one is currently in the ISU. Suffered a massive stroke. I'm having a serious problem with a couple of the nurses and particular family members.
: : It seems as though nothing is sacred. Meaning even when my loved one is trying to have a bowel movement, the room is full of people. I'm so incredibly SICK of the lack of privacy.
: : I understand the sponge baths, the clean-up and so forth but can't he have a moment of peace when trying to go to the bathroom.
: : Tonight I told the nurse several times that I would let her know when he was finished. That didn't stop her from checking in every minute, which made him uncomfortable and therefore did not go.
: : It got to the point of her threatening me, saying that, "technically visiting hours are over and she can make me leave if she wants to".
: : How do I deal with this and stay sane? (He is not to point yet of speaking for himself.)
: : All I want is a quick recovery. Though it looks like I'm going to be dealing with this situation for at least another 2 weeks.
: : Any suggestions?
: : I've reached the point where I don't even want to visit. It's breaking my heart. What happened to a little decency and respect.
: Greetings to you and may the Lord bless you.
: You and your loved one are having a difficult time and you are not alone. Everyone in this world is facing all sorts of problems and they are all important. I myself have multiple sclerosis and I have numerous problems in going to the bathroom. This is very uncomfortable and takes away from my dignity. I don't want to ask anyone for help. I have learnd to trust the Lord Jesus Christ in this and other problems I encounter daily.
: The most important thing to me is what Jesus did for me. The Bible says:
: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
: I also live by the following scripture:
: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
: In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
