My mom had a brain aneurism near her brain stem one year ago. The initial surgery involved putting two coils in. At a follow up visit in April she found that the coils had compressed and she had another coil put in. According to her doctors the procedure went fine. She seems to have all of her motor skills but she is weak on the left side of her body. And her mind seems fine except for some short term memory loss. After one year she is still having deep depression and basially waiting to die, which she might not do for a long time. She is about to undergo psychiatric counseling. Since she seems to think she is the only aneurism survivor, I think that she would benefit greatly from a support group. Can anyone help me find support group information in the Southern New Jersey/Philadelphia area? Any help or suggestions on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
