: : My father is 72 yrs old and in generally good health. A few weeks ago he was feeling dizzy and was having problems with his vision. He was seing "tracers" - when he moves his head it takes awhile for his vision to "catch up". He had an MRI and the results showed that he had a series of mini strokes. He went to a neurologist and was referred to a ophthal-neurologist(spelling??). My Dad lives in Illinois and I live in California- so I am feeling very helpless. Does anyone else know anything about this? What type of treatment is available? I would appreciate any comments.
: : Thank you,

: I had diplopia (double vision) as a result of a stroke. In my case it has cleared naturally with eye execises over a period of 7 months. I was advised that in my case it was also possible to correct with surgury but to wait a period of at least 12 months before considering. As it turned out I needed no operation. I would suggest you talk with your GP for an opinion as I dont know if it is possible in all cases.
