: i'm larry a stroke survivor of 7 years caused by major head trauma.
: i'm49 years old and paralyzed on entire left side
hi larry my mother had a stroke 5 years ago total paralyzed on her left side. it is very hard still. i commend you. you are very insperational. she is 57 and doing good. i understand all that you went through only because of seeing her go through the same things. she has pain still in her legs and arm and she had a very strong sex drive. her memmory is fantastic and so isn't her sense of humour. i try and be thankful that she is still here although i miss the old her and that takes some getting used to to not feeling that way. at the beginning i believed that i wanted my mother to die only because i didn't want to see her suffer so much her losing her independence. sometimes she gets deeply embarresed being in public and having to use a restroom and depending on others to take her. there is more to having a stroke then just the physical limitations , there is the loss of privacy, the loss of freedom to do simple things like getting dressed, cooking, taking a shower. however her stroke has giving me the greatest gift the chance to get to know her better and change our relationship to make it better. i get to make our relationship stronger by almost losing her. godbless you larry
