I have had low normal 90 on t-3 panels norms being 80 to 200 for about a year. My tsh was .8. Last year I became clinically depressed after a small dosage change in my meds. I was treated with paxil for alomst a year. As soon as I got off these meds my depression returned. I had all kinds of blood work done with my endo, feeling that something must be phisoloically wrong. Nothing. I went on effexor a month aga, and this has helped with the anxety and deprssion. On a return visit, I again mentioned the t-3 and its low level, and if this could have anything rto do with my depression. He said I was in normal range, but he would test the t-3 again. It did come back at 75, and he has put me on cytomel, at 5 to start. He has noy changed my .112 levoxl. What should I expect. Has anyone had major improvements with this additional t-3. I hope that this my clear my depression. How soon would I know and how will I know if I am on an antidepressant? Treefrog, nancy o can you help explain this one. also why is it low, and where shoulsd I expect my levels to be when it is adequately treated?
