I had a fungus on my big toe nail and now the nail is falling off. The nail had developed a horizontal ridge and at now the ridge my nail is about 3/4 off. This will leave only about 1/4" nail left. What causes this and what do I do to protect this tender part of the toe without a nail? It already is becoming painful. Please reply...Thanks!
