: Can alopecia be caused by Hypo or synthroid? Is there a natural alternative to synthroid? I can not take herbs because I'm allergic to salycilates and yellow dye. Reaching my saturation level to both was caused by taking 1.0 mill. of synthroid for a couple of years, so my doctor switched me to two .05 mills instead. This is something others may want to consider doing before they reach that saturation level.

If so it may take a while to get the meds leveled.
Ask your pharmacist or doctor to look up in the PDR what are the side effects of synthroid. Look at all even the low %. This may help you to convince your doc to try the natral thyroid if your levels are normal.
