: I am trying to gain muscle and lose body fat. I am currently taking .125 mg's synthroid per day. I can't
: seem to lose any weight. I am working out and still having a terrible time trimming down. Any feed back
: would be appreciated...Thanks

If you ever find out how to lose those extra pounds that ususally come on with hypoT, please share it! ;-)
Some seem to lose it after they stabilize on a certain dose that prove's to be the best dose for them, others
seem to need to add T3 with Cytomel or Thyrolar and yet other's seem only to be able to start losing it after they
stabilize on a natural thyroid hormone such as Armour. I've noted that it seems to take about a year for many to
start losing the weight on any of it.

I know that, for me, I would never be able to take off the extra poundage that occurred after undergoing RAI if I had stuck
with Snythroid. My muscles and joints remained weak and in much pain with Snythoid. Now on Armour natural thryoid it is greatly improved so I can now do things that I haven't been able to for the 2 1/2 years that I was on Snythroid.
It's only been 8 weeks so there has been no weight loss to report as of yet, but since I am more active and I can now do things that I couldn't before (like touch my toes and lift my arms completely over my head) I'm sure that I'm on the road
to loosing it. Just need to a good exercize program, hopefully.

Not everyone needs or can benefit from either adding T3 or switching to a natural thyroid homone though.
For more information on a natural homone see...http://thyroid.about.com/library/weekly/aa071700a.htm

If you run across any good information on this problem...PLEASE share it!
