: My doctor said that my thyroid glands are swollen. They have been that way for about 10 months now.
: They want to remove them. Is this the only option? The doctor said that I will always have to stay
: on the medication if they remove them. I am not doing good with the medication right now. Is there
: a chance that my thyroid glands will return to normal with the use of the correct medication?
: Desperately seeking help.
You can always get a second opinion. If they are talking sugury and not raadioactive iodine(RAI)I assume it is not Graves desease. Did your Dr explain to you what caused the goiter? Sites to visit endocineweb.com and about.com they are loaded with information and links.
