I've recently been diagnosed with papillary adenocarcinoma. Have autoimmune thyroiditis with a nodule that showed abnormal cells on needle biopsy. All blood thyroid levels are in the mid-range of normal; only the thyroid peroxidase antibodies are high. Surgeons want a total thyroidectomy ASAP, but endocrinologist says I can take a little time to think things through. Has anyone successfully used natural remedies to reduce nodules and/or keep the abnormal cells in check? My acupuncturist/Chinese herbalist believes he can help me, and I'm in no hurry to remove a thyroid that seems to work. But there is that big scary "C" word. (Can't know if the thyroid is infiltrated with cancer unless they cut me open. Catch-22.) Accepting any suggestions/war stories. Thanks.
