Awhile back I had the normal set of tests done when a doctor prescribes you anti-depressants. Thyroid being one of the tests and it was negative. I got sick a few weeks later and went to the clinic at my work and the doctor said he thought I had "hyper thyroidism". My symptoms indicated something wrong with my thyroid. Depressed, fatigue, rapid weight gain, light headness, a general sickly feeling, stomach ulcers, etc. I told him I had the test and it was normal and he said that sometimes the test they do is not good enough that a more meticulous test is what I needed to get and to go to my doctor and DEMAND that I be seen by an endocrinologist. I was wondering what the opinions of you out there are. I have been to my doctor since but I was so sick with a virus, I talked to her about it briefly but she was more concerned about giving me a "strep" test and "mono" test that we didnt really delve too far into it. Anyone have an opionion?
