: Susan, thanks so much for your response. This is my first message board experience so I didn't know whether to write a new message or do a follow-up...sorry. I have a couple more questions. First, how long did you stay on a new dose before the doctor decided it was correct? My doctor is adjusting it every 30 days. Is that a long enough time for your body to adjust? Second, once your body was back to normal after pregnancy, was your dosage different than when you started, or did it fluctuate a lot for a year and then go back to the original does? Thanks again! sharon
Sharon, My Dr tested every 7 weeks. That is about the time it takes to saturate the cells. I figured I changed about 3 or 4 time before I became "stable". That was about a year or so after birth. Then my dose stayed at the same amount until I became pregnant again. I am still in the leveling off period. I have changed doseage 3 time so far and am hoping to be level soon. I cannot tell you if it is the same dose because I became pegnant the 1st time 5 mo after having my thyroid removed with the 1st and I am sill working towards the "stable" level with the 2nd. I do have the feeling that the Dr's take it slow on the adjustments as not to shock your system. So it may seem long but I do feel I will get back to that level dose again. Hope this helps. Susan
