I only lose weight when I cut way back on sugar and simple carbs (potatoes, refined flour, white rice, cereals, corn, etc), which also make me bloat. It is not exactly the Atkins Diet, as I eat normal protein, and lots and lots of vegetables. Tonight I ate Pizza with the family, but scraped the toppings off the bread. I drank a diet Rite soda, as it doesn't have sugar, or the other sweeteners. It is made with Splenda. I use half and half with my coffee instead of a lot of sugar (am not a black coffee drinker). I eat a sugarless chocolate occasionally and gave up ice cream, and pastries, etc. After the first 10 days when I did crave the carbs, I am feeling much better. If my blood sugar is too low, I eat carrots, which have some sugar. I now ahve to mke myself eat constantly, to avoid low-blood sugar.
The ahrdest part is I like to eat on the run, so have to eat differently and have some food prepared so I can. No more quick sandwiches or snack foods for me.

I have always been casual about my weight, allowing myself to get to 80 pounds over.
I just saw myself in a video, and now am motivated beyond my denial.
I am trying to change my eating habits so it is lasting, and have lost 4 pounds in two weeks. Was not losing before this. My plan is to not weigh ecept every two weeks and focus on healthy eating and not weight.

First thing is to be sure you get optimal meds.
Get well.
Dieting is stressful! But if you are well, then you can deal with the losing.
