: I wonder if any of you have information concerning the possibility of getting rid of tyroid nodules (not cancerous) without surgery. Is there any way to make them shrink by trying hormone therapy? I would appreciate your help.
There are different schools of thought regarding the appropriate treatments for thyroid nodules. Some doctors feel that you can shrink the nodules through "suppression" by having the patient take synthetic thyroid hormone to suppress their natural output. Acupuncture combined with Chinese herbs is successful for some patients searching for a natural approach. I suggest going to www.endocrineweb.com for a thorough description of many thyroid issues.
