:I've just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have read extensively on it. I don't recognize your moms symptoms as being part of it. I would never have been diagnosed if I had not done my own research into my own symptoms first by reading med. books etc. I would suggest looking up your moms symptoms, as there could actually be something else going on, and also looking up the med. she's on as to the side effects etc. Also, is there a possibility she's going through menopause as symptoms are way worse when you have hypothyroidism . Do your own research, library, internet, and consider a different doctor. Atleast having an idea of what it may be narrows it down to what type of doctor to see and what to check for. I specifically asked doc to check thyroid and estrogen levels as I learned I had all the symptoms of a low functioning thyroid.I found out from results that it is barely functioning at all, which explains months of tiredness, depression, short memory, weight gain etc. Good Luck! I can't stand to know your mom is suffering. Please have her E-mail me. I am responsible married woman with 2 children. I want to know what she finds out and if she gets some relief. Karen My Mom has burning over her entire body -- including the vaginal area. Sometimes the burning is quite severe. Her doctor has told her that this is due to her Hypothyroidism. While experiencing burning sensations, her blood pressure elevates considerably. Has anyone else with Hypothyroidism experienced any of these symptoms? Please, please help my Mom ... she is so depressed and frustrated in not being able to get any answers to her questions. Thanx!
