Dear Rose: I am meeting with a surgeon tomorrow to discuss cutting the damn thyroid out ASAP. I've been diagnosied as Graves, ADHD, and GAD - Generalized Anxiety Disorder? Go figure. I'm tired of being sick! I just want the damn thing cut out and hopefully can feel WELL again, I've been ill for nine months after being told I had Graves, I didn't have Graves, (sorry they said just a birth defect) now ten years later one stillborne, five miscarriages and two live births - ten years a -part they say Major Graves, my T-3 and T-4 was four times the alloted limits, first the PTU now the Tapazole, the really ironic part is the main ingrediant is latose and I'm latose intollerant, (for nine months, hives, asthma, hair loss, fevers, chills) - I'm with you cut it out!! I'm starting to feel rapid cycle bipolar and psychotic myself!!! BUT THEN AGAIN MY PSYCHARITRIST SAYS I'M JUST FINE IT'S THE THYROID LEVELS, HA HA (IT'S NOT FUNNY ANYMORE!): Am I the only one that wants to get this thing cut out of my throat?

: After approximatley 13 years of fighting Hashimoto's disease I am fed up. Up untill 1.5 years ago I only had very casual relationships with all my doctors that never really led to any real solutions. BUT about 1.5 years ago I believe my Thyroid finally "Crashed & Burned" Since then I feel I have given my thyroid so much attention and nurturing on every level with NO FINAL RESULTS. My levels never stay at "normal" and I have every terrible symptom as a result of hypothyroidism including being a rapid-cycle bipolar and other manic/pyschotic symptoms.

: Q's :

: Would removing my thyroid gland be appropriate in this situation or do I have to just keep on trying??

: Should my doctor have offered me this solution?

: ANY HELP OR ADVISE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...
