I found your board through a depression board. My husband has recently been diagnosed with depression and began taking 10 mg of Paxil about 5 weeks ago. Just the other day, he received a report from his doctor saying that his tyroid test came back borderline low. Neither of us know much about the tyroid and I have been educating myself on depression. It seems there is a connection between the two. My husband has gone through many losses in the past 5 years (major colon surgery, loss of 3 friends to cancer, sister who is manic depressive and out of touch with the family) so you can see there is some definate depression because of all these losses.
What is the connection with a hypothyroid and depression? He is still very emotional so I am not sure the Paxil is strong enough, but he is irritable, edgy, has loss of hair and a few other symptoms that fit.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
