: : I need some info please. Are all thyroid meds the same? I was told by my doctor that I had low thyroid, and I saw his notes. They said hyperthyroid....I thought that low thyroid meant hypothyroid....Can someone please set me straight on this please? My test results said .35 My doctor used a scale of .46---4.98 anything inbetween is normal. Are all the meds the same whether you have hypo or hyper?/???? : : thanks : Depends on the test if TSH is .35 you are hyper your T4 test would be on the high side. Hyperthyroid is treated with anti-thyroid drugs such as PTU if this doesn't work they may go to radioactive Iodine to kill part of your thyroid or surgury depending on why your thyroid has gone hyper. Talk with your Dr and ask what his plan of treatment will be. You may want to se a Dr that specilizes in the thyroid. Please post your question on the new board it is easy to register. You want to see an Endocronologist Mikey
