Be very careful with mercury filling replacements. To replace them, alot of the tooth often is drilled away which puts you at risk of damaging or killing the tooth. I speak from experience. If the tooth is killed, it will abcess, and that is potentially deadly, and definitiely makes you very ill. Filling replacements are not as simple as they seem. And I believe TMJ is likely to have several causes. Possibly you could fix it from another direction. For myself, I've had alot of success with dietary changes, vitamins and herbal supplements, a jaw splint or biteguard and careful jaw stretching excercises given to me by a TMJ specialist. In any case, take care and good luck .
