Stress is a big part of TMJ. It first starts with tooth grinding at night. You grind your teeth because of stress! Once you've been diagnosed with TMJ you will not get rid of TMJ just because you cut out some of the stress in your life. The emotional problem has been partially replaced with a physical problem and you have to deal with the physical problem (TMJ). Hope the above is not too hard to understand.
