: Hi Susan ; I have both fibro and an especially severe case of TMJ. The theory is that TMJ(especially muscle pain and spasms)is a localized form of fibro or at least fibro makes it worse. I too was diagnosed with TMJ, before it became clear I also had fibro. The per centage of folks who have fibro and also TMJ is significantly higher than the general population. I hope you can follow my fibro-fog logic, but this is especially to say, it's nice to meet someone with the same problem. Best wishes, Al I have not been officially diagnosed with FMS but I have all the symptoms and all my lab work has been negative thus far. I am seeing a rheumatologist soon. All of these years I have had neck, back and shoulder pain I have attributed it to my TMJ. My doctor seemed to think it was from my job as a medical transcriptionist and typing all day. Maybe all of these things are somehow related, I don't know. It does seem like a lot of people with fibro also have TMJ.
