: Dear friend: Not to worry! I had this surgery the summer of '98;It is the least invasive, with the most tiny hole through which a small camera guides the surgeon. You will probably have it done outpatient,or at most overnight. You're not "out" under anesthesia as long, so your side effects and recovery are honestly not a problem. Best wishes, Al
.Dear Al, Thanks for your reply ( the only one so far ) Questions : Have your discs remained in place after the arthroscopic surgery ? Have you had any recurring problems or pains since ? Did you have physical therapy after surgery ? If so, for how long ? Did you have to wear a night guard splint after the surgery ? Still wear it ? Did you need any reconstructive dental work to correct your bite ? How long was the recovery period after surgery and when could you chew again ? Did you consider or have any alternative treatments prior to your decision to have the surgery ? eg cranial manipulation ? accupunture ? I must make my decision soon and I'm looking forward to your reply. Priscilla
