I'm 18 yrs old and was told about my TMJ years ago. Recently I saw a consultant because the pain was getting unbearable. The doctor said that mine was a severe case that could only be relieved by surgery. My insurance covers the surgery, but he said I can't have it unless I get 2 yrs worth of orthodontic work, which my insurance doesn't cover. I have a very bad overbite and still have many of my baby teeth, some of which are loose. I need braces but can't afford them, and I'm afraid that if I don't get the surgery, I'll never get relief. Is there hope for me? Please e-mail if you understand.
