: My doctor has recently prescribed me 2400mg of ibuprofen a day to help stop the pain ive been having
: in my head and jaw area. I have noticed though that whenever i would take some of my medicine, i would
: have severe stomach cramping and nausea for the rest of the day. I then took my dosage down to normal
: (like it says on an over the counter bottle) and i still had the stomach problems. I have had to stop taking
: the ibuprofen all together. My doctor is now suggesting extra strength tylenol, which honestly, hasnt done
: me a bit of good. I have an appointment with another oral surgeon next month, i hope he can help me.
I have been prescribed Flexaril (non-narcotic muscle relaxer), and Darvocet for really bad days. I cannot take anti-inflammatories because of ulcer history. Have you tried heat packs? They help loosen muscles surrounded the joint, and can offer some relief. Be careful if doc prescribes Skelaxin. Causes great stomach pain in me and others.
