Hi Mia...The FDA just denied approval for the latest TMJ implant. Most people who get implants end up with nothing but trouble. There is a current discussion on tmjd.com about this and the FDA ruling. PLEASE go there and read the patient history section and post your question there. There are many replacement patients who will give you their advise. Please avoid surgery at all cost. I have had 3 and am looking at 4. I have no discs or bone left in the joint. No matter how bad you are, it can always get worse. Please check it out carefully before doing it! Best wishes..Carole
